Raw Milk from Tablehurst Farm
We have a small herd of just eight Jersey cows producing milk for our farm shop. The milk is a completely natural product, free from the denaturing effects of pasteurisation and homogenisation, two unnecessary industrial processes to which most "fresh" milk is subjected.
Our cows rear their own calves until they are old enough to eat grass - typically at around five or six months of age. This means that we humans receive the surplus milk after the calves have taken what they need.
Our milk is sold through a vending machine next to the farm shop. You can bring your own container - the zero packaging solution - or buy a reusable bottle from the shop. The vending machine takes cash, or you can buy tokens for the machine in the shop when you get the rest of your shopping.
If you would like to read in a bit more depth about our dairy and our milk, you can read our blog post here.
If you haven't been to the farm before, our postcode is RH18 5DP and you can access the farm from the A22 just north of Forest Row village.
