Farm Shop Assistant

Tablehurst Farm runs a bustling farm shop in which the local community, as well as customers who travel from afar, come to buy our farm-produced and externally sourced products. To a large extent the farm shop is where the farm interfaces with the community, so it is essential that it maintains a friendly and welcoming image, provide excellent service and ensures that customers enjoy the experience of shopping at Tablehurst Farm.   

 

From January 2026, we have vacancy for a part-time Shop Assistant to join our team. This position is physically active, and involves customer interactions throughout the day. The following skills and attributes are essential:  

• Be reliable, efficient, willing to follow processes and instructions.   

• Be organised and can be relied on to carry out tasks independently.  

• Have a professional attitude towards the work assigned to you. 

• Being enthusiastic, friendly, and willing to engage meaningfully and respectfully with customers, your line manager and fellow team members.   

• Have the awareness to keep the shop clean, tidy and welcoming.   

• Be physically strong enough to work long hours, sometimes carry and lifting products and in all weather conditions.  

• Be punctual in arriving at work, and also in taking and finishing breaks. 

• Genuinely interested in working with biodynamic, organic and locally produced food and drinks. 

 

Start Date: Early January 2026 (date TBD with successful candidate)
